In January, the young people and adults from 3rd Reading Scout Group and Zebra Explorer Scout Unit took part in a 24 hour abseil event at Youlbury Scout Activity Centre, Oxford.
They endured many different weathers from rain, wind, sleet, snow, and ice over 24 hours. Abseiling through the day and night, they managed to raise over £4,800.
In total they were able to complete 334 decents. That equates to 4,000 metres – that’s the height of Les Droites, Mont Blanc.
Well done to all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, and volunteers who took part!
