Beaver’s 30th Birthday Badge Competition

WP_20160329_20_32_41_ProTo help celebrate the Beaver sections 30th Birthday, Barry Johnson, Assistant District Commissioner (Beavers), set a challenge to all Beavers across the district to come up with a special badge design. This particular badge can then be worn on Beaver Scout uniforms in the district to commemorate the birthday celebrations for the section.

The winning badge design was judged by Kris McCabe, District Explorer Scout Commissioner. Kris explains “It was a very tough decision to choose just 1 design that would become the official Beaver 30th Birthday badge for Reading Central District. There were 330 entries from across the district – all incorporating the themes of celebration and what scouting means to each and every Beaver Scout that entered.”

After a long deliberation, the winning design was from a Beaver Scout from 69th Reading Beaver Scout Colony. Well done! We will be looking to present the winning badge design to the Beaver Scout that won the competition shortly.

Barry would also like to publicly thank all our Beaver Scouts for taking part in the competition. There were many lovely designs and colours that made this a very close competition.
